Bishops Green, Greenham - ESSENTIAL CARRIAGEWAY SURFACING

I am writing to inform you that West Berkshire Council’s contractor Volker Highways Ltd, will be undertaking essential carriageway surfacing works on Bishops Green, Greenham as shown on the enclosed plan. This essential resurfacing work is programmed for 20 April 2026 to 21 April 2026 between 07:00 and 19:00 each day.

Works will be undertaken with a road closure; emergency vehicles will be allowed through the works under site supervision. The contractor will endeavour to provide access to properties but short delays can be expected as works pass vehicle entrances. Information boards will be erected on site and whilst these works are weather dependent, every effort will be made to complete them as per the programme. Should it be necessary to revise the programme, the information boards on site will be updated accordingly. Alternatively, you can view the current status of the scheme by visiting

It would be very helpful if you could also arrange for any deliveries to be made before or after the stated working times.

Please do NOT leave any vehicle parked on the public highway within coned off works areas and No Parking cones. Failure to do so may result in damage to your vehicle or injury to the workforce.

Waste and recycling collections will go ahead on the usual days; however, it is important that your bins and recycling boxes are put out by 6.00am as collection times may change to suit the works.

Should you have any queries regarding the work, please do not hesitate to contact West Berkshire Council’s Customer Services Team on 01635 519 080.

Yours faithfully
