The Base

Located in a purpose-built building on Greenham Business Park, The Base is a visual arts charity (1199188) dedicated to improving access to the arts whilst bringing high-quality exhibitions and creative opportunities to the local area. The Gallery hosts touring exhibitions throughout the year, including Wildlife Photographer of the Year from the Natural History Museum, London, and community events such as Open Studios’ flagship exhibition, INSIGHT.

With the aim of spreading the wellbeing benefits of the arts, a varied programme of classes for all ages and abilities take place in the venue’s Lookout Studio. With a free to access children’s art trolley, resident artists’ studios to view, and a coffee shop, The Base is a welcoming, creative space to explore.

School and community groups of all ages are welcomed to The Base to enjoy enriching exhibition tours and artist led workshops. Many of The Base resident artists also head out into the community, running collaborative projects and inspiring creativity.
