The Charlie Waller Trust

The Charlie Waller Trust

We provide evidence-based mental health training and resources for parents and carers, schools, colleges, universities and community organisations. Our work is informed by the latest research, including that from the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading.

The Trust was established following the tragic death of Charlie Waller, who died by suicide in 1997 after experiencing depression. Since then, our mission has been to equip young people and the adults around them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support positive mental health and help prevent other families from experiencing similar heartbreak. To help us continue reaching more young people and families, we're holding our annual Walk for Wellbeing on World Mental Health Day (Saturday 10 October). This year's challenge is a 16-mile walk across Berkshire, taking participants through some of the county's beautiful countryside while raising vital funds for mental health.

We are offering a team entry for groups of four at £100 /£25 per person, individual sign up is £30. We kindly ask participants to commit to raising £200.
